hotcams is a company that makes cam shafts. with a high compression piston and a cam, you bike can really really wake up from the stock form. you would need a service manual for the installation of these items.

by the way, i have a stock 400ex carb in excellent condition that i am willing to sell maybe. let me know if your interested.

what would be the benifits of going to a 400ex carb from the 300ex, and would i have to rejet with the mods below or could i just use the jet i am running now?

the 400ex carb will provide more air flow. you would probably need to tinker with the jetting a bit. i could probably get you in the ball park of where you want to be. the more mods you put on the bike, the more this carb will help.
