u kno wut is so freakin annoying lol is when doctors always say that they see more and more accidents with ppl riding those "quad things" doesnt mean all those dumb people (no offense) wreckin them on accident, can ruin it all for us who dont have the money to by 1 and want their parents to get 1. I wouldn't sweat it. A lot more people die from car crashes today than they did 50 to 100 yrs ago. Doesn't mean that cars are bad, I'm sure at the time doctors where swearing how unsafe the motorized vehicle was but now it has revolutionized travel and urban development.

There are many things far more dangerous than quads, for example smoking. Smoking kills on average 1,200 people a day opposed to ATV's which kill on average of 1-2 per day (I believe the atv numbers are correct, I think it is closer to 1 per day on average) Not to say that ATVs don't cause a heck of a lot of injuries, however they are minor in comparison to that of smoking.

It's all about the politics and media attention. Alcohol related deaths are staggering, but most of us drink so we are willing to accept those fatalities as long as it doesn't directly affect us or our families. If more doctors rode atvs, they would wine less.

I do agree there are just to many idiots out there who shouldn't be allowed to procreate, but have no problem putting themselves or there kids on a quad.

i shaddered my wrist in 92 on a three wheeler, so while i was in the back room for 3 hr this doctor comes in and kind rude goees those things are dangerous and can hurt you. well the guy hit the scales at about 400 pounds and about 5'5, wonder if he knew what that does to your heart, i think i had the atv thing figured out as i looked at my arm in a z

 

80 - 85% of all ATV related injuries/deaths are caused by improper use of the ATV. Riding double, no helmets, riding on roads, using alchohol or drugs while riding. Take those away and it's a very safe sport.

 

i ended up breaking 3 ribs and punturing a lung on a lil 110 dirtbike hahahaha but that doesnt stop me i was life flighted all the way to a childrens hospital but i wasnt doing anything stupid when i wrecked i jus over corrected when my bike slid out =( well i definitley (sp) think quads r much safer b/c i kno how to controll them ppl think u can do the same things on quads as dirtbike ( like turning ) and thats why they roll the damn things!

 

Yea I here ya doctors are always telling me with all the stuff I do that they wonder why i am not in there all the time

 

amen. well said and its the truth. its all about timed media attacks right now in coordination with environmentalists. they hate guns, outdoor activities and anything with a motor on it... but just dont take their gas guzzlin limos away. they want to make a name for themselves at the sacrifice of others' freedom, citing their freedom as more important.

ATV's dont cause accidents. Stupid riders cause accidents. I am a paramedic and it is job security for me. Also I appreciate the organ doners. The folks who are too dumb to procreate can leave thier useable parts to save the life of others. So please sign the organ doner cards.
