I just spent three days riding in China Hat, 318 miles of woods trails and my 450r kicked a**. I lugged the motor like a mf'r and never stalled it. It is stock with NOTHING changed. You will need to set your suspension for your size and style. I went out with my brother who was ridin a friends LTZ 400 and he couldnt keep up no matter where we were. On the trails it was difficult to race do to the dust but when we were able to I destroyed him. This quad is great for all types of riding ya just gotta know how to ride. And from alot of statement s on this site I assume some people who trash on it dont know how to ride

No I wasnt directing that directly at you, rather at the many people on this site who are misinformed and have never ridin a 450r. Notice that I said SITE and not THREAD. Everytime I read posts regarding a 450 someone without a clue posts nonsense about them( 450r sucks in the woods). You could not be more wrong. As for opinions your right and Im sure people value everyones.

The 450's in my shed right now!
I picked up a 13 tooth. I am wondering if everyone is running that with the stock tires?
Will it be enough when I put my 22" Holeshots on?
I am soo used to my low and wide Warrior. To be honest, The 450 scares me a little. Not the power, but the tall and narowness. I am very comfortable with the old generation quads...these new ones feel a little strange.
I am thinking very seriously about flipping my rims when I put the 23"s in the front to give it a wider stance. Would you guys suggest widening the rear too? I'm thinking it would feel more stable.
I read the thread on suspension setting. Is that a good start for woods or was it for MX? I'll have to go back and check it out again.
I'm open to any suggestions or tips anyone may have to make this a sweet woods racer!

For the second weekend in a row, me and my HRC 13T front sprocket quad, a stock 450R, 2 very good riders on DS's, 2 zuki 400's went riding and the 450R's shined. This was in a River/woods environment. I have to say that I put my 13T on first before the HRC and haven't tried going back to the 14T sprocket, but i just love this thing. I love this thing, and all the other quads just starting asking lots of questions about the 450R. How do you like it? Is it easy to jump, etc.. they are all starting to wonder about this machine. They are all starting to see it !!!! They all just watched as me and the other 450R did some MX style in front of them. Just give it time folks, the 450R is starting to show its colors.

My works great in the trails, im loving it. The reason why im keeping the stock gearing is because it seems like to me after you get out of the first gear the gearing seems fine. When the trails get tight you just gotta work the clutch and it dones just fine. 13t is just to low for when i want to let it rip on open trails, i find myself reaching for another gear at times. Maybe if i spent most of my time in really tight trails i would switch, but until then im keeping the stock gearing.
