Yami 450, Honda 450, or the Kawi 700? For blasting trails, MX track, sand? Which bike would suit me best for all conditions? Think the Kawi is lower maintainence but still able to keep up? I can get one of the Kawi's cheaper than the other two, but don't want a bike that's way too heavy. I'm 6 ft 175 lbs......

Don't get me wrong, I love Honda. But come on! All bikes kick A$$! I even liked the Snarks! (kinda stretching that one.)

your a good size for a Kawi, but I don't think it'd do too well with MX

I used to own a 400ex and ridden the 450r and the kawi.

Im kinda leaning toward a kawi also cause they are good all around bikes and alot cheaper.
Ive always been a honda fan but i do think for best machine it does go to the YAMI.
Its pretty much personal preferance tho. All good machines.

The kawi 700 really is in a different class. Its a big bore with an automatic and shaft drive. While this is great for trail and dune crusing, and even xc, the mass and dimensions of the atv and the vtwin engine make it out of its element on the mx track. If you want to look kawi's way for a sport atv for the mx track, the kfx400 is much more practical. The 400 is significantly slower than the 450's and has a less impressive stock suspension. Its also over a thousand dollars cheaper than the 450's.

Both of the 450's are great bikes. The honda is kick start only. Neither has reverse, while the kfx700 and kfx400 do. If you are going to be spending some time actually competing on the mx track, a 450 would be the machine to get. The honda, due to its engine design and gear ratios is more trail oriented than the yamaha. It is somewhat more comfortable for longer rides and larger people. It's also slower in a straight line. The yamaha seems to respond better to modifications as well.

If you are going to be competing in mx events, get the yfz. Its the best for the job.

If you are going to be spending more time trail riding but still compete on a casual basis, the honda may be a better choice.

If you spend most of your time playing in the dunes or trails, the kfx700 may be the bike for you. But if you still plan to play around on the mx track in this situation, look at the kfx400.

Good luck with your purchase.

Thanks guys, It's such a hard choice! Manufacturers are making great bikes that continually evolve into even greater bikes....Now if someone would just buy one of my kidneys......I'd be able to get all three...

I would say ride all three then make a decision. I rode the YFZ and it wasn't a comfortable bike. The difference in hp is so negligable it's not funny. Being 6' like I am you probably won't feel good on the YFZ. Also I seriously doubt a stock kawi would hang with either 450. I've ridden a P700 but not the KFX so I'm sure there are some differences between them.

Anyway good luck on your decision.

Well my dad has a KFX 700 and a Honda 450, and I own a YFZ 450. Pretty much like everyone says, the V Force is actually a pretty fun bike and does really well for its weight. The Honda is great at Handling and with how light and ninmble it is and how smooth the it is it is extremely good in the trails and the sand and track. The YFZ looks small, but there are some bigger guys that say that thay actually feel comfortable on it. It does hit harder, it is has better acceleration. It has great suspension, and it definately has a motocross seat on it.

Well I hope we at least provided some info to help you in making your decision, all great bikes!
