whats better in the woods?

My brother is 30 pounds bigger then me and he can rail through the woods on a stock 300ex as fast as me on my 440. In tight woods the smaller quad is good for swerving around stuff.

The 300 is one sweet trail bike! Its medium size, gives it an advantage over the 400. On the other hand, it has a power disadvantage compared to the 400, and isn't going to be comfortable for large riders. And, the 400 has better suspension. Both engines have mod potential.
If you are considering a purchase, I would pick the 300 if I were not to big, and I rode mostly very tight trails. If you are a larger rider, and/or you ride some more open trails, pick the 400.

I ride in tighter wooded areas. I would rather a 400ex for my size. But considering that my Recon carried me around. I would think that the 300ex would do alright. Maybe better than the 400 for where I ride. (tighter turning needed)
If I was going to buy a sport quad, I'd probably buy a 400. I like the 400ex but I'd really need reverse. So enter the Z400.
