Hey everyone this is my first post here, but anyway I'm thinking about buying a 400ex off of the used market since alot of people are trying to sell them to get a yfz or 450r and you can get one for 3-4 grand pretty easy, I do alot of jumping on my friends quad and I was wondering how high I could jump it without bottoming out. BTW i'm 170lbs Thanks!

 

It seems to me, that you can hit any size jump no matter what your suspension is like without bottoming out if the landing is in a good position and slope compared to the jump, if you mean just a striaght drop, cant help ya there.

 

I usually don't have a downslope when I jump. Do you think I could jump more than 10 feet?

lol, no thats not it I usally just have a flat piece of ground to land on. Not like a table top or a double where we actually have a "slope".

 

when i say landing i say slope, i mean landing. So you mean your jumps are like this, /_____ and not / \ lol

 

Yeah thats exactly what I mean, just a flat spot after I hit a jump >___/\_____ like that.

 

Thats a steep jump! jk. i think you should be able to jump about 6 feet high and land on your rear tires w/o bottoming out.

 

What would be ways I could improve the suspension to make it be able to take on bigger jumps?

 

tighten it up or buy new shocks.
