bradracer, ur definately right on that, the only downside to all of that stuff, is the weight. but if ur on a tight budget, and want a quad that wont break, and has good performance, that's the pred. its like i said before, it all comes down to rider preference.

I understand what you're saying when you state that once you build the bike up to be as strong as the pred it will cost more, but you will also have to spend money on the pred...to make it competitive with the YFZ, you will have to do a large amount of weight reduction...a good deal of the bike will have to be replaced with aluminum, which will be costly...it all evens out...

 

To mnrap/head027-I hate to beak it to ya but yes I can do 85 mph,maybe you did not read my sig.I have a 36 tooth rear sprocket(stock is 38)and in case you don't know that changes top speed.I don't appreciate being called a lier,I only speak facts.Before you suggest I am lying try changing your sprocket and see how fast your quad goes or ask someone more knowledgable.

 

Your not going to gain that much top end from stock with 2 teeth less on the back. Increasing it by one in the front would have more impact and that still won't get you to 85 mph on your Honda.

You must have some good stuff in that bong.. Maybe if I have a few tokes my YFZ will do 90 mph with my 15 tooth on the front. LOL

Some of you guys need a reality check quickly!!

Me and my buddy checked this with a GPS unit. Top speed on my honda 450 was 66.3 mph. We made a few passes with the same results.

 

I had a pipe on my pred with a stock air box and not jetted. When dragging in a straight line I didn't get beat by anything consistantly except by DS and YFZ and banshee with paddles. I know there are alot of variables, such as rider, tires ect... With walker evans shocks on the front and the width of the bike from the factory it handled very nice, with the exception of always ending up sitting on the tank when riding hard. As far as keeping up with a YFZ or 450r on a track, its almost impossible because of the weight and seating position I guess. Preds are nice quads and I liked mine alot, however after selling mine and jumping on the YFZ bandwagon (and getting used to it) I believe I like the YFZ better. Its alot peppier and easier to throw around and very fast.

 

Its not how fast your top speed is that matters...its how fast you get to it.

 

YFZ is faster than the trx with a good rider on the yfz. Why is the trx weight the same as the yfz when the trx has a kicker and yfz has eletric, you take off the battery off the yfz you will drop close the 18lbs, cut the fenders etc... you could get 300lbs, CPC has his bike around 290lbs. What all trx are goign out to dumont on saturday halloween weekend, I wanna beat some trxs lol
