250r in a drag and 400ex in track and dunes, thats my 2 cents

 

dude the 250r would smoke the 400ex in everthing the 250r is a legend. You guys asre truly insane if you think that a 400ex will beet a 250r my gosh dont you guys read dirt wheels.

 

....The 250r is legend that has been beaten. 400 may not beat one but back in the racing days throughout the 80's they were nothing, the 250r sucked horribly. My dad had a 250 tiger and raced it and smoked all of the 250's only thing that beat him was a banshee and some other bikes that aren't made today. Only reason why the 250r is a "legend" cause its the last 2-stroke racing quad that honda made for racing. Untill 450r.

 

The 250R is a legend because of it's frame geometry and it being the only two stroke quad made by honda for racing.
It may be beaten stock now by the newer 450's, but when both are modified it's a different story. 18 years later the 250R in a modified state
the 250R still reigns.

 

There isnt much prayer of a 400ex beating a 250r even if both are stock. Your an a**clown if you think the ex is a better duner than the R, go watch em in the dunes the R will handily beat the Ex in EVERY scenario.

 

Too bad they stopped making the 250r, but not the banshee. Come 2006 Banshee will be a legend.

 

well i dont know about u guys, well i mean before i got a 400ex i thote that a 250r wounld waste it in a drag and so did all my friends and every one in my town,( i have a lt250r witch in stock form is faster than a stock trx250r) so when i bought a 400ex i lined them up and draged them my 400 got the start and then the Lt caught up and then the 400 pulled out and in the end my 400 ( witch is stock) won the race, and we did this repeately because i did not believe it and me and my friend switched back and forth between bikes draging theme all day and all day the 400 wounld win.. so then again i say a 400 wounld take a R.. also my other boddy of mine has a trx250r and a 400ex and his says 400 wins every time when he drags them and that he prefers the R.. but dont get me wrong the 250r is my favorit besides the new 450r..lol but just my 2 cents did not mean to offend eney one[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Thats strange man. There are a lot of results that come from the races between the 400's and the 80's 2 strokes. Even in pure logic all the 250's
should win. They are 40+ lbs lighter and all have more hp from the factory than the 400EX. I also don't see the EX winning on top end. I have
clocked many 400EX's and they topped out at around 65mph. My 250r when it was stock was 70 right on the nuts when my jetting was perfect.

 

My 250Rs put the whooping down on my friends 400EX's! The R is also faster in the trials, track and dragstrip. (my R with a pipe, thin head gasket, and a couple other things is over a second faster in 300ft than a piped, hi-comp, jetted ect 400ex(dont believe me look at pictures)) I dont have any dunes around here but the 250R is oviously going to be faster. All my friends with 400ex's say they would rather have my quads instead of thiers. What does that tell you. The R is the legend, the next legend will not be the banshee or any other 2-stroke. The Next one will probably be the YFZ.

In other words why would people even compare the two togther. The R is just better, IMO of corse.
