In no way do i see the kick starter as a problem, i actually like it. It would be nice for some company or even honda to make an e-start kit so ppl have that option if they want it, plus it would stop alot of ppl from whining... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] .. jk

I agree 100%. If someone NEEDS electric start or reverse then they shouldn't be riding that machine. A performance quad should be lean like a thorough-bred. Nothing you don't need.

 

Well, its tuned different- both engine-wise and suspenion-wise for xc/trail applications. It even has a different frame according to honda. True, Honda doesnt like to change stuff alot but i think they are atleast atempting b/c in todays times, you cant stay where you are and be competitive in the ATV market. In the past mindset, they may have gotten away with the 400ex , but the sport/high performance atv market is moving much faster now and i think they will make a better effort. For 2005, at least they came out with another color for the trx450r - black and silver. It took a few years for them to make the yellow option for the 400ex.

As far as electric start goes, frankly, why the hell not have it? the YFZ has it and they did it at the same claimed weight. you cant deny that it is an exellent high performance machine. Does it make it any LESS of a high performance machine by having a magic button? I dont think so and alot of the racing world doesnt think so either. If you want to kick, fine, kick. But it's nice to have it. The 450R does start well. It would just start better with a button as an option for those of us who want it. After all, most people that buy this thing will not race it competitively.

 

sorry, you wont see electric start on a 450, honda built it as racer as possable. its a wieght thing. trudt me it starts a hell of alot easier then the crfs do. you've probly seen the black 450 and rincon. for 05 honda's keeping the 250ex and 300ex, but who knows were the 400ex went. we wont find out till september. maybe reverse.
