What's new for Utility Hondas in '05
#2
I have heard all types of rumors, but they are all just that.
The only fact is that there is at least one new Honda quad to be unveiled at the dealer show in September,...but Honda is not saying whether it is a sport quad or utility quad......or even just another version of a current model, which is always possible.
Unlike Yamaha though, whatever it may be will not be available until Spring of 2005. This has been Honda's "style" of a new release for the last 15 years or more.

Carrying multi-lines, it's easy to notice these things.
After Yamaha unveiled the Grizzly660, we had our first shipment within two months. Same thing happened with the Kodiak 450, and YFZ450 when they were announced.
Suzuki and Kawasaki aren't that far off either.
I'm sure Honda has it's reasons.
Whether it is a marketting strategy, dealer input, or some other explanation.
Whatever it is, it obviously doesn't affect their bottom line.....They are still the best selling ATV brand year after year.
But it's annoying as hell to me.

Perhaps Honda is always the first to the market with new models if you consider they will have their new models out next year several months before the compeition has their next models out. :}

I like how Yamaha gets a product out before anyone knows what hit them. I still haven't seen a decent article about the Raptor 350 and it's been out for a while. A local Yamaha salesman didn't know anything about the Raptor 350 and then it came out a week later.
I just wish that Honda would build the anticipation of their products more. You just don't here anything from Honda about new quads. Look how Suzuki is building the anticipation about the new King Quad. They throw out a few pictures to get people interested. You hear a little about it now and then. That gets people thinking and planning.
If Honda was a "man" and the customers were the "woman". The woman (customer) would be wondering if (Honda) the man was going to kiss her. She'd be wondering for months and months. Then one day (Honda) the man just blew his load without any fore-play. Not even a kiss. Leaving the woman (customers) wondering what just happened? Then the man (Honda) struts around saying that he just gave the woman (customers) the best sex (product) ever. When he (Honda) really did not.
Honda needs to build the anticipation through advertising and not through wonderment.
