I got a 2003 400ex aboue 1 week ago and i was wondering what mods i should do to make it have a lot of top speed and enough torque to pop wheelies easy in like 2nd and 3rd, i can do em in first but revs to high. i am saving up right now and got about 250. i have it stock right now, i want curtis sparks x-4 for a lot of torque and then air filter, jets, outerwear, stage 1 hotcam for some top speed and what else? should i regear? please help

 

i would only change gearing if you know you want more power in a certain gear range. also, there isn't much else you can do unless you start going inside the motor. if you ride tracks or race, suspension would be a good investment.

 

well stock it can easily pull up wheelies in 2nd and 3rd gear. if it revs to high in 1st then your doin suthin wrong and u need to practice more. i say go ahead and get the pipe, filter, then rejet, and drop a tooth in the back.

 

a good pipe (supertrapp IDS2 for $180) and a jet kit ($50) will get you goin
