Ive heard numerous complaints about the 400EX swingarm being faulty with working at a shop. People have come in and ordered new ones saying that it cracked. Out of curiousity, I called honda and questioned them on it. The person told me that they are offering a discount off a new one if it broke. I thought to myself, Why don't they recall them? Then last Wednesday, Mine cracked. I was wondering if anyone else's has done the same thing and we could maybe get them recalled. Thank you for your time.

Your right, Honda should have issued a recall if they new that they were faulty.

Honda was it an honest error or are you hiding something? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I had mine break 2 months ago. My dealer just replaced it with no questions. I then got the 5 year warrenty cause it seems like everything on my bike has broken.

I had mine welded and powder coated and it hasn't broken since. If you need yours powder coated E-mail me. My swingarm is twice as strong.

I actually thought about rewelding it. But then it makes the area around the weld weak, doesn't it? And just out of curiosity, how did both of yours break, mine was off a 75 ft. double that I cleared and landed on the flat after the downslope. Ouch!

No, it makes it stronger. They add some big chunk of alumminum to the crack, and weld that on to it, it looks great. It cost me $75.00 for the weld and the powder coating is free, because I am a powder coater.

Where does it crack at. I want to keep an eye on mine.. Also if it does crack. IS it better to go with a after market swingarm. Maybe a +1 or 2. Or is the stock length better to stay with.
