Default Is this a good deal, and is the rusting normal?

Hey guys,
I have been out of the four wheeler riding world for a year now and am ready to get back into it. On the 400ex is this rusting normal? Also what would be a suitable price for this quad. The link is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT . Check it out for me and see what you think.

what makes you think that is in awesome shape..Just because its shining? Anyone can make their four wheeler shine. its called Wd-40 Or some kind of metal protectant or armoral, for the price for about 1 k or 1 500 more you can get a 2003 brand new. Your choice.

I wouldn't buy something used like this off eBay - unless they are close by and you can see it and ride it first. You wouldn't buy one locally without doing that - I'd look around for one you can inspect before shelling out that $3000. And you are right - there are good deals on like new used ones - you just have to be patient to come across one. Good Luck!

I actually plan on going to look at this quad today. It is near by. Is that rusting on the frame normal though? What else should I look for?

Rust is going to happen anytime paint gets knocked off and bare metal gets exposed. Take a look at it to make sure the rust has not eaten away a lot of metal and it is still structurally sound - I doubt seriously it would be an issue. You can clean that up and touch it up.

Good luck - hope it is what you are looking for.

I'm not a fan of buying something like that off of E-Bay either but I was just saying that it looks like it's in good shape. I know that you can't tell if the thing runs or not I was just saying that it looks well looked after!
