Default idle speed screw

i checked in my instuction manual and yes i have been turning the idle screw but it does absolutly nothing, i took off the black plastic thing and i notice how the idle screw would make it idle higher if it is holding back that little bar that hits it, but mine isn't even touching it so that is not the problem. what the he11 is wrong with this thing it idles as if im holding down the throttle 1/4 - 1/3 the way. do u think that i might have the carb flooded with gas and its all burning up? it idles so high that i can drive down my driveway in 3rd gear without touching the gas and not bogging down lol please help me

i know it has nothing to do with the cable because when i opened the black thing off of the carb, everything was in the right spot and it didn't look liek anything was wrong there. i think the problem might be that the slide is stuck up high. but when i start up the bike and quickly click the throttle in and out to try to make sure nothing is sticking it still idles high. any more suggestions?

this might help: when i look at the exhaust hole from the carb (the big whole that connects to the engine) the little disk that stops the air from comming out it slightly open (only about a 3 mm on top and bottom) when i squeez the throttle it opens all the way but when i dont squeez it it still open like 3 mm. any one have any more suggestions? thanks for the help guys

the cable could still be bad. it could be catching inside. it may be fine where it mounts into the carb though.

i mean on the inside of the carb everything is seated properly. like under the black plastic its all in place. do u think that a kink in the line would be pulling on it? any more suggestions? keep em comming

yeah, a kink or something in the line would cause that. everything under the black plastic piece may be fine. when you push the throttle in does it go in and release smooth?
