Default piston upgrade 400ex HELP!!!

I was reading up on the hotcam stage 2 and it says that it's only for racing? Does anyone know what kind: road, mx, track etc.?
Because i live in the country with some tracks around and i have to do lots of road riding to get there. And I blew my piston on my polaris last year and i dont want to do that with my new 400.

Input would help lots, thank you

well my cam might already be sold. it is a stage 2 hotcam. it is in excellent condition. its the new updated style and was in my bike for about 8 tanks or less of fuel. yes, a 416 @ 10.8:1 will work good with the stage 2. the stage 2 is more aggressive than the stage 1. it is good for mx, open roads, or dessert racing. you wouldn't need anything else besides gaskets. of course your sleeve would need to be bored to accomodate the larger piston.

Default piston upgrade 400ex HELP!!!

If i have the kit installed by a company, I presume they will have the mechanics required in order to compress the piston sleeves?
Because I have no problem working on the carurator(sp), and the frame of the bike...but I dont really want to mess around with the engine just yet.

I found the cam at a website for 129.95 (stage 2)....is that a good price, it's the cheapest i could find.

a machine shop or local atv shop will be able to do all of the work. i am not sure what you mean when you say compress the piston sleeves???? basically what you will need done is to have your sleeve bored out to accomodate a larger piston that you will be installing.

$130 isn't a bad price for the cam. just remember, you will have to pay shipping for that too. i am almost positive that my cam is sold. however, i should know for sure in 2 days. so, hold off for the cam for a couple days. if it isn't sold, i will let you have it cheaper than what your getting that for.

Well, thanks again, and like i said...just let me know if its gone or not.
By the way, what is your standpoint on gettin a new clutch perch and have the emergency brake removed from it. Does a pressure release valve a must for a new clutch?

E brake is like the one on your car......doesn't do much, but if it wasn't there when you need it, it just isn't there.

As for pressure release??????????????? what?

you can remove the parking brake. you will just need to get a parking brake block off for down on the rear caliper. a new clutch lever is just fine. RTC makes the best ones i have seen. the pull is much easier than stock and the look sweet. however, you pay for the best.

Ok that sounds pretty good, did you hear anything about the compression realease thing?
And you say I should go with an RTC instead of a Works Connection?
