the black 450R is pretty sweet...im not sure the red shocks fit well though..
anyway, there's no information on the 400ex here! possibly making a few changes???

the 450R is already way better than the z400 and theres no way that honda would need to do anything to it to make it "more" competitive with the z400
another thing is that honda has a very reliable quad in the 300ex it may not be the most sporty quad in the world but u will be hardpressed to find a quad that can go thru more crap and still be fine and ready go further another thing is that it has reverse
the red shocks are kind of a let down cuz the raptor and the banshee SE's both had black shocks so i do not think honda is going for the all black look i think they are doin a thing like they did with the yellow plastic cuz if u look there is no change in shock color

Yeah i think honda would be smart enough to keep the 400 Ex around.. But i would doubt that right now they can still be competitive to the new Z/kfx/dvx... Just normal factors like the 4 vavle,Liquid cooled, DOHC,and reverse.. I dont think anyone on this website would think that the ex doesent need little minor udates.. I mean its a aircooled, dry sump SOHC engine... But i must say that When honda try's they do know what they are doing.. If i am correct the 400ex came out in 1997 and back then The aircolled sump engines was great... But now company's are making more hightec engines and doing it good... These four stroke engines are really starting to wake up there not what granny's tractor used to have in them...
But IMO they need to do little minor updates to the engine to not compete but destroy they Suzkuki,KAWI,artic line up... Thats woudl would make this sport better..

Actually the 400EX will have a tougher time competing against the '05 Z400 as Suzuki did some updates to it for the new models. They have a larger carb, a few lightweight components, a beefed up clutch, and a few other things.
I think the 300EX would benefit from some weight savings. All of the aluminum parts that went into the 400EX would be nice on the 300EX. It might handle better and the engine would seem a little more powerful. rooster

I believe that the 04 400ex already has a bigger carb than years past..I'd like to see it get a little big larger still...Possibly liquid cooled DOHC to put it even if not above the quality of the z400...i personally don't like the 300ex..It's kind of like an ackward middle between the 250, and the 400...If anything, you'd think they would have made it a 350 to compete with the warrior...everyone i know withe a 300 grows out of it quickly, and bumps to a 400...so im not so sure...
