Default Best paddle for 300ex

I need to get some paddles for my G/F's 300ex we are both new to this so I don't have a lot of experience, do I need to stay with the 22 inch tire size? If not what size (rear) would be best? Any brand/type prefrence? thanks

The 300 is stock, will be adding a pipe. she weighs about 130 if that matters?

Default Best paddle for 300ex

hi, i asked this same question a while ago and got nuthin for a responce, again for my girlfriends 02 300ex, i may put a set of used 8 paddle haulers from my friend on there or just get a set of sand stars, i'd say that the sand stars seem to be about the best paddle tire for the price out there, oh and get 20" rear tires for dirt and sand, i just got a set of turf tamers for dirt for it but out in california the dune season is still like four months away, for gearing with the 20" tires i'm going to swap a 36t rear sprocket on to get some top end back, just leave the front sprocket so you can keep the case saver, off topic but i already did had the swingarm +3'd and a set of 250r a arms and raptor shocks with custom mounts, the ex rides like a caddy now wayyy smoother. lates. josh..........

Thanks for the info..... so you are suggesting going to 20 tires for both the dirt and sand, then changing the sprocket? Sorry for the dumb question but..... why? What advantage do I gain by going to a smaller tire and changing the gear? isnt it the same as a 22inch tire and leaving the gear the same?? Does it help with the handling or the ride??

Thanks again,

20s on my wifes 300ex (she is 160) works great. I reccomend the angle paddles for playing around - I assume she aint drag racing. Her 300 has COBRA and I have found no better exuast for the price and sound with a head pipe. Plus they are only $100. but they are steal

Had 6-paddle, 20X11-9 Skat-Trak Edges on the 300. They were on ITP 9X9 rims, which are wider than stock for some added stability. Bike did very well. Did have a header and muffler, K&N and vented airbox lid, so power was better than bone stock.

Go smaller than 22". You will need the extra torque!

hey while we're on the subject of tire swapping, and the results, i was hoping to get some feedback about a 13t x 36t rear combo for the 300ex, with 20" tires, the reason why i dont want those 22"s are that the stock ones look like dougnuts and cant give that good of traction compared to a flatter profile tire such as a turf tamer or holeshot for dirt, again, opinions for a 13t front sprocket to keep the case saver and a 36t rear to get some top end back, and how do you think it'll do in the sand with this gearing, thanks, josh........
