i wouldn't worry much until it gets here and if it is it will be easy to fix.

 

why would they put a bigger carb for 04 and then detune for 05.

it makes no sence

 

Not every pipe has to be 100db[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] I'm putting the quietest pipe I can get on the 450 when the time comes.

 

Maybe they put on the bigger carb, knowing they would have to detune it later? Or, maybe the bigger carb helps them meet the regulations? Like I said, it already meets CARB standards, so I am thinking it was no big deal to make the federal regulations. In most cases, Calif. regulations are way stricter than any other state, and the feds.

Somebody said the Recon was missing from the list of new bikes (just like the 400EX was missing), so we should be hearing any day that the Recon meets the new standards too. No big surprise there.

I'm with Joel on the sound thing. My 400's are to loud, and my Z400 is wickedly loud. Going to put quiet cores in both of them. I'll give up a little performance, to have more places to ride!

 

I just don't see the harm in Honda telling us about a new model or changes with older models before Sept. (like now) I've been recently searching for a new sport quad. Unless there's a surprise, I know what all the dealers have to offer for 2005 except Honda. If I was to buy another brand of quad. I'd be kicking myself if Honda actually came out with something I might want. If Honda would just tell us then I could make a decision to buy another brand or wait. If I want to find out what Honda is up to. Then I have to sit around waiting 3 months to find out if they will have something I want. Then I'd have to wait a few more months for the quad to come out. Then the snow will be on the ground and I won't want to take the sport quad out. It could take up to 9 months to purchase a Honda. (Snow melts around March)
I'm in no real hurry but I don't know if I want to wait 9 months. The Z400 Limited is looking better and better. Or even the 2005 Z400 with a larger carb.

Come on Hiroshi Murakami, give us some information. If the products are good, then people may pass up the other brands (during the next few months.) to wait for a Honda.

 

Coyote-I know what you mean! I bought the Z400 because I got tired of waiting for Honda to come out with the 450R. And, I got the 450R, because I am getting tired of waiting for Honda to come out with a 650EX!!!

 

I will just stick with the no regulation old bikes

 

well I got an Email from a guy that was doing some work in the honda plant. and he claims that he had a chance to see the new 400ex. he said the new 400 will have the 450r headlight and the reverse **** is on the right front fender. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

I hope it had a radiator too! Would be nice if they had a bike that could really go head-to-head with the Z400.
