250R exhaust system
#1
I just recently bout a 1986 250R, my first two-stroke quad. The quad is basically stock other than nerf bars, and a bumper. I am wanting to put some type of aftermarket exhaust(FMF,or PC) on it what would u suggest.
Thanks

I dont think many will disagree here, but I would put on an ESR TRX-5 pipe. Great bottom and mid range with a good boost on top end. I know of at least 2 people personally who have them on a stocker and they work great

ESR pipes and silencers are excellent, I have 2 and the fit and finish and performance are outstanding. Click HERE for Eddie's web site. You can get a better price by calling JH Racing at 918-371-0101. There is also an ESR pipe and silencer on Ebay right now, click here for that auction but it doesn't look like Eddie's 5 pipe. The 5 is for all around performance, where the 6 is for moto cross, more low end power than the 5 pipe.

I have a CT mid-range pipe with an ESR silencer and I am very happy. Don't buy an FMF. I used to have a Gold Series pipe and it fit absolutely terribly. My engine would always be a mess after a ride because the damn thing fit so loosely on my exhaust flange.

TRX5 for all around power, but if you want something that will rock your world specifically in low and midrange, get either the Curtis Sparks MX
full exhaust or ESR TRX6 full exhaust
Be careful when buying the TRX5 pipe though if you do , even though it's an awesome pipe, it's a centermount so you'd have to remove your airbox and
run an open airfilter unless you rig it with a non center mount silencer like I did for awhile. They do make an ATC version of the TRX5 which isn't
centermount, maybe that would work on your TRX
If you get a low-midrange pipe and plan on getting another mod later on, you will for sure want to look at G3 Power Curve Reed Pedals from www.1dirracing.com
Their reeds give unreal power, if you read their information you MUST rejet and you MUST regear...I went up over 15 jets sizes on mine when installing
them, dropped 1 on my needle jet and never got around to adjusting my pilot. Well, I forgot to regear, I was running 14/38 gearing, and I took my R
out on the highway for a 300ft run after getting the reeds on....let's just say from 1st to 4th gear I was very lucky to have a grab bar! When I hit
6th gear I got a skipping from my chain...when I stopped, there were 4 teeth broken off my front sprocket and another one 1/2 chipped off. Simply
