Ok folks, i want to start a new project quad. I want to find a 400ex frame that hasnt been cracked or bent, does anyone know where i can find one? ive looked a bit but havent got any luck, If anyone has one for sale or knows someone that has one for sale, can you please PM me? thanks. Also, do 450r a-arms bolt onto a 400ex frame? as well as a 450r swingarm? Or any other compatable parts? thanks for the help.

I dont mind at all, im prolly either going to get a regular 400ex engine, or a crf 450 engine if i can find a good deal on one. and if you dont care, what engine will you be using? thanks for the link.

I tried a 4 over swingarm from my 400 on my 450, it doesn't work. It will go on but it is off about a quarter inch to one side. I didn't try the front arms but the front shocks are the same size.

400ex and 450r axles are interchanable. its good that you chose the 400ex frame not just becuase it has good geometry but because they are so tough and durable it should be easy to find a used frame thats not bent or cracked. another thing about the axle carrier if this helps when i ordered my axle bearings on the package it said :trx300ex, trx400ex, and trx450r. so i guess the axle carriers are the same. i know if a project quad but maybe you cuold keep this in mind, you can prolly getr a good used 400ex complete and start modding it like that. they run about 2500 for a decent used one. o yeah and all the stock parts you would take off the 400ex might fit your 300ex. i know somebody who put 400ex a-arms and shocks on his 250x(same chassis as 300ex). hope this helps ya.

I guess ill keep on checking.

It is an aftermarket swing arm for a 400ex but the stock 450 carrier didn't quite work. The snap ring would not go back in. The arm needed trimmed up about the thickness of the snap-ring. I didn't try the stock 400 swingarm.
