2004 Recon Pricing Lately

Visited a few Honda dealers in the Dallas area today & got a best quote of $3,299 out the door from the lowest for an 04 Recon (manual shift).
Retail is $3,299 so this does not sound like that decent of a deal especially when the 2005s will be out in a month.
This price was tax exempt price (farm exemption) so not sure if I can expect anything out of further bargaining ????
What OTD prices have you guys & gals been getting?
Are there other sites where "dealer invoice" price can be obtained. You know, work from the ground up instead of list price downward.
Thanks.
BTW, have been reading the forums a while & just joined. Lot of good info and good exchange going on.

I did some shopping for Honda Recons this weekend. We are looking at the ES model which is slightly higher than the standard model you asked about. Two prices that I have been quoted were $3,254 and $3,299. A document fee of either $40 or $50 will be added to final price. These were in Central IL.

Thanks, seems to still be some bargaining to do. Lowest so far is 3,216 now out the door for manual shift.
Hopefully more downward pressure when the 2005s start to roll in. Anyone know when the 05 Recons will actually be hitting the showroom floor?

Rocky Face, Georgia. Outside Dalton-the carpet capitol of the world, 15 miles south of Chattanooga Tenn. The Chatt dealer is the one with the great prices. Thinking of going today to look again.

You are having the same problem I had in February. All the 15 Honda dealers in the DFW area and East Texas are very proud of their machines. All were within $60.00 or each other on their quotes. Each would meet any other dealer's price but not beat them much.
I had some buddies from Birmingham, Al. put me on to the following web site for Hondas and Yamahas.
Lake Hill Motors
Corinth, Ms is a good 10 hour drive form Dallas. My wife and I left on Friday after school and drove to Memphis, TN to spend the night. The next morning we drove 2 hours into Corinth to pick up the quad. We then drove back to Shreveport, La and spent Saturday night there. Even with gas, two nights in a hotel, 6 meals on the road, we still saved $1500 over the quotes from the Dallas dealers. ( Be prepared for a couple of hours in the dealership to pick up your machine. They sell 50 or 100 machines on Saturday. We were paying cash, and still had to wait our turn to fill out the short paper work.)
These came from their web page 7/6/04
2004 Recon ES
$2899.99
2004 Recon S
$2750.00
These are out the door prices. You pay no sales tax in MS.
If you wait until late August, or September, I will go with you. I am getting another Honda just as soon as the 2005 come out.

Yeah, picked up my 04 Rancher FE ES in Chattanooga, TN for 3949 out the door.
They sell the recon s for $2699 and the recon es for $2849.
I made the drive from charlotte, NC a few weekends ago. It was the same story as gsettle described. They sell alot and I had to wait for quite a bit to do the paperwork. My local dealers wanted $4700 for the same machine and wouldn't budge at all. Just told me to have fun trying to get a local dealer to work on it.
