I don't think it will be this year. JMO. We dreamt aboutn and heard about, the 450R for two years+ before it hit the market.

A REAL sport/ute! 250cc 4X4, hot and light. Not like all the posers that are on the market now.

Look for the holes...............

50 class mini quad

250 class 4x4

450 Hondamatic 4x4

650 Sport Quad

700+ 4x4

Anything other than those listed above would be all new categories compared to the other Japanese companies offerings and since Honda has been playing catch up for the last 5 years.........a new category is entirely possible, but it would have to be something ground breaking to make the others follow Honda for a change the following year.

Don't get your hopes up for the 650EX. I highly doubt it's arrival until at least next year. We already know the 400EX is going to be somewhat detuned most likely due to more detailed pollution control. I don't forsee any new models coming either, but who knows with Big Red......

The new CRF450X will be at the show but not available until Spring next year.

I see another version of the TRX450R coming based on the CRF450X in the next two years if Honda is as serious about getting back into the quad racing scene as they say they are.

Will the CRF450X have electric start, like the CRF250X??? I did a post on the TRX450R as a trail bike, and most everybody whined endlessly about no electric start or reverse. The 250R has dominated cross-country racing for years. It has a kicker and no reverse, and nobody ever whined about it for all those years! Go figure? And, the 450R kicks over every bit as easily as a 2-stroke. Even my friends with YFZ's are talking about converting to kickers, although judging from the dirt bikes, I predict the YFZ may be a hard starter. (Perhaps Yamaha put electric start on the YFZ because they HAD TO???)

I would like to see a "trail" version of the 450R, with more trail friendly gearing. I personally have come to enjoy the kicker on my 450, and reverse is a luxury I can live without, unless it can be had without a significant weight penalty.
