the 250R has just as much potential to be reliable as anything else
I have an 86 250R which is only at .020 and it wasn't "blown up" EVER
Like any two stroke....just make sure you use a good motoroil and premix ratio and make sure your jetting is good
A lot of people say the best all around mix is 32:1 with using semi synthetic...I mix 32:1 with yamalube and have never
had a single problem
What mods are done to the 250R and what year is it?

i have an 86 with only .030 over and i absolutely love this machine!what other 18 year old machine is worth more now than new?yeah the new 7000 dollar ones are a little faster. so what! if you want to drag get a big bore alcohol banshee. if you want a bullet proof hard running machine that wont need a tow back to camp,get an r .......im out![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

i would go for it i had a 250R before my banshee and i lived that quad they might break a lot well what do you say my banshee brakes more than my 250R ever did i get lucky if my quad lasts 4 trips to the dunes with out breaking but i like the 250R more than any raptor out there
