Not to be rude or anything but have you ever acutally ridden a 440EX at the dunes in warm/hot weather?? I owned a 440EX for a while and I can tell ya once that thing got hot I could watch the HP sink into the dunes. Now I won't disagree that my Z gets hot even with liquid coolin...because it sure as heck does!! The difference is the power BARELY changes,if at all, and I don't have to worry as much about over-heating.

I sold that EX to my next door neighbor so I still see it quite often, and I can say it has been pretty reliable (couple of blown head gaskets but thats about it), and still is a worthy quad.

I agree with your overheating statement. When I'm climbing long steep hill's at the dunes(Sand Mtn Utah) in 95+ degree weather, I have to let it cool down or I won't make it up nearly as fast the second time. That's where I think the Z should have the edge when doing mods.

Not that I'm dissing the air cooling because it is one of the reasons I went with the EX.. I was tired of maintaining my unreliable 2 stroke liquid cooled quads so I went for simplicity.

WE HAVE BOTH ALSO AND THE Z WILL GET THE EX EVERY TIME NOT BY TOO MUCH BUT IT DOES THE DOHC MAKES A DIFFERENCE A LIST OF PERFORMANCE MODS BELOW

400EX= WHITE BROTHERS E-SERIES,JET KIT,K&N FILTER
Z400=TRINITY EXHAUST,JET KIT,K&N FILTER (NOW THIS IS JUST A LIST OF PERFORMANCE MODS BOTH BIKES HAVE HANDELING MODS AND LOOK OR COSMETIC MODS)
