Default Dim Headlight question on a 01 400ex

hey guys, long time no talk. but anyways i have a problem, if you havent noticed it yet i bought me an 01 400ex a while back and just the other day my right headlight wasn't as bright as it is suposed to be ( like it is barely on) and i can push inward on the lens and it will turn on like it is suposed to, but as soon as i hit the smallest bump it does the samething again. i was wondering if this has happened to any of yall and what did you do to fix it. Please help me on this cause i do alot of night riding and that one light REALLY makes a difference. Even if it hasn't happened to you, let me know what you think could be wrong. thanks

Since pushing in on the headlight temporarily fixes the problem I would start there. Check the plug for corrosion broken or damaged wires etc. Check the terminals on the light for being loose or damaged. Check for a bad ground. Perhaps the light it self is damaged. trace the circuit back throught the switces, all the way to the battery if necessary. dirty battery cables, weak battery etc. I will bet that it is near the headlight itself.

Check where the bulbs connect into the sockets. If the back of the bulb is worn down, you can melt more solder to it thus giving it a "renewed" hump. This fixed a similar problem I was having without having to purchase new bulbs.

use a small screwdriver to help pull the connectors apart if necessary.
