Default 250R's Idle

My 250r doesn't seem to want to idle. It'll run perfect and everything, Just when I pull the clutch in and stop, I have to keep revving it up or it'll die. It wants to idle, it just doesn't. I am thinkin maybe it's my idle screw. But I just want to make sure it's nothing in the motor or carb. Well, carb I could deal with maybe, bu the motor already, no!.

I'll fool around with the idle screw today and see if it helps. Any suggestions in the meantime would be helpful.

Thanks Guys,

If its the stock carb tunr the black choke handle out i beleive. (This IS the idle) If that still doesnt work then go a size of two leaner on the pilot jet, and screw the air screw out. If its an aftermarket carb then screw the idle screw IN, and if that doesnt help then try going leaner on the pilot jet. good luck let us know how it comes out.

i noticed you just got the bike. some 2 stroke owners like to set the idle like that so it dies if you dont keep it up on rpm's manually. i dont know why, i just know the guy that had my bike did it and ive ran with some MX guys that do it too. chances are the pilot and air screw might of been messed with as well with the mods that are on the bike so that might also be the culprit.

When the quad is warmed up, try turning the choke **** out (counter clockwise). This let's more air and fuel in on the idle circuit and will increase your idle.

I play with mine all the time to oil the chain and stuff (just set the rear axle on a block, put it in 1st and turn the screw out a little).
