What is the flat out top speed of a 450s/es?
I am going to take an average, to see where mine falls after adding larger tires. (27X12X12 mudbugs). Thanx

 

Around 50 mph, maybe 51 for a top speed.

 

On mostly fine dirt about 47mph. I haven't found many trails that I would need to go faster. I sold my Tecate and was worried about the difference in the riding style change but so far I love the 450es.

When my dads es was stock, it would top at around 48 or 49. After adding 27" Blackwaters, It will still top out around 48 according to the speedometer, but it takes longer to wind up to that. But remember, that the "gearing" has been changed with the larger tires and it is probably really going about 5mph faster than the speedometer reads at top end.

 

Mine topped out at 47

 

My 2000 tops out around 52-54, depends on the altitude.

2000 450es got it up to 50 mph. and its all stock.

 

I just bought a 450s for my Dad (and me), it only runs about 40 by the speedo. This thread is making me wonder whats up. The speedo is off or its still not broke in or I've got something wrong. Any ideas?

 

Good question. How accurate is the speedometer. You would think that being digital and all, it would be close. Who knows. I know that the speedometer on my AC is very optimistic. It would show like 58 with the stock tires. Now it shows 53-54 with the 27" tires and the GPS is reading 51-52. I'll believe the GPS myself. My cousin's 454 speedo showed 59 when the GPS showed 51.
