270- parts (piston, rings, gaskets)
150- Labor, new spark plug, carb tuning
180- Machine shop, Resleeve cylinder, fresh bore.

total 600 with tax and stuff.?

This is off a 88 CR250, it blew a hole through the piston for some unknown reason.

Way too much. Do it yourself and have the sleeve machines if it needs it. What kinda piston is that? Should be about $100, not $270. Grab up a Wiseco for that mule.

Too much.... I just had my 250 ex top end rebuilt and total was $275, which included labor. This included new piston, cylinder bored out, new cam chain, carb adjustment.
Keep checking around. I originally took mine to the Honda shop, and they told me $819-that the whole engine needed overhauled. Luckily I found a small cycle shop locally who did it cheap, and did it right.

Yeah way too much. A whole piston kit, that includes gaskets, and rings is around $100 to $150

You should check the engine cases. My friend did the same thing and there were cracks through his case so he had to replace them.
