chris660r, this is just what i am talking about, you are already comparing the 400ex to a mchine you have never ridden, how would you know if it doesnt have enough power to beat the raptor?

I always thought that the 440 kit was $285. Then you need someone to bore it out and install the sleeve. That is all. Now to get more out of it, just like any other motor, you then pipe, air filter, clutch, carb, cam, etc.....But you can do the 440 kit only and it gives about a 20% increase by itself according to the wise one Pam from Powroll.

jeff... the reason the kits are so high is mainly the pipe, and K&N and things. Hakmazster is right, 285 for the piston sleeve and stuff...

YOU ARE THE ONE COMPARING THE QUAD TO THE RAPTOR. SAYING THAT YOU CAN GET A KIT AND IT WILL BEAT IT, YOU DONT KNOW THAT SO BEFORE YOU SAY I AM COMPARING THE TWO YOU NEED TO SCROLL UP AND LOOK AT YOUR ORIGINAL POST.

It's ashame seeing alot of 400ex's for sale.
When I bought my EX in febuary this year, I had
to get a brand new one. I would have preferred
buying a used one, but as soon as they appeared in
the Cycle Trader or news paper. They were GONE!
If I would only have waited 6-8 months.
