Default Honda Recon Electrical problem diagnosis...

1999 Honda Recon (TRX250) with an electrical problem - any suggestions?

This ATV will not charge the battery. With battery removed, it does not produce enough power output to light the headlamps beyond a dim glow, and the green neutral light will brighten slightly as the RPMs climb but then drop to a dim glow.

Where should I look to address this problem?

Thank you for your assistance!

Hmmm, I had this same problem on my Big Red, turned out to be a bad ground wire. Check all your grounds, clean em up if the are rusty or anything. I believe I tested the stator (alternator?) to make sure it was within specs. If you can get a hold of the service manual it should have the specs it should be within. My guess is it is one of those 2 problems.

Sounds like a bad battery. Charge it up, and have it load tested, at Autozone or Napa.
