Is the choke on? Also the parking brake could be stuck so when you look at the rear brake if the spring is kind ofcurved then it's stuck.Sorry but that's all I can think of.

Right, I checked that. Stilling starting and idleing. I can put the clutch in but when i go to shift it into gear it still stalls out on me. Lot of dirt on it so I cleaned it thinking something was plugged and it still does it. Was running fine.

You might want to check the oil. If it is good then just make sure the clutch cable is nice and tight.

Sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging all way. Must be the cable or clutch itself. Could be your using oil without friction modifier.

The idle could be set too low and when combined with a cold motor you could have enough extra clutch drag to kill the motor. Should go away when warmed up. Since you just bought it used be sure and go through everything especially motor oil, air filter, and valves. Some riders believe in 20-50 in the summer. If that is what you have in there that could cause some cold start and cold clutch use problems. I believe 15-40 is plenty good even for the hottest summers. These have a monster oil cooler.

Turned out to be the clutch froze up completely due to the oil clogging the two holes to lubricate the clutch when it engages and disengages. That was quite costly.
