#1
I wanna take a trip to pismo duanes soon, and as u may know i cant bring my 300ex so..... i was just reading about atv rentals the fastest quad u can rent is a 300ex well no biggie , i like the 300ex. But i was reading and it said "cannot be ridden by anyone 16 years or older. Well im 14 and the only quad i think im aloud to ride there was lt80 or maybe a breeze 125. WoW Speed! I cant fit on an lt80 and a breeze is really really slow sure it would be fun to play around on for a while but id get bored too quick. Do u guys think theyd let my use the 300ex????

Actually, you CAN rent 400ex's, but for an insane price. The name of the outfit is Angelo's which is located on the Oceano side of the beach. You have to be thirty something to be able to rent it though..................

Yeah, Angelo's has 2 (i think) 400EX's to rent. They try to keep one for display, and one to rent. Pretty dumb i think. But its been busy so far this summer, so i think they've been renting both out. As for being 30 years old... are you serious?? Thats plain stupid. I can see them going my the "over 16" rules. I didn't know that they did though. I figured as long as they get their money, you get to ride a quad for a little while.

Guys - you ever read the warning labels on the ATV's --- No one under 16 on a 400EX - no one under 12 on a LT80. - Thats why they do it - if they rented an LT80 to a 9 yr old - or a Blaster to a 12 yr old -they are breaking the law or warning on the bike. As stupid as that seems - my kid was riding his LT80 at 5 (against the manufacture) and now at 10 he's on something that Yamaha says he needs to be 16 for !
Go figure. THey're nuts - but thats why they do that.

hhhhhhhhmmmmmmm blaster sounds good but the site i was looking at said they only had recons, trail bosses,lt80s,breezes,and 300exs but im sure u can rent a blaster.. Oh yeah i dont wanna sound rude but what good is a 400ex if i cant ride it. The thing that would eat me is if my dad somehow ended up with a 400ex (he cant even ride my 300ex) and i was stuck with some little breeze or lt80.

The manufacturers and some government agency came up with the age "recommendations" after so many lawsuits and injuries. The manufacturers make the recommendations as a way to cover themselves. I don't really know if it's "law" or not, I don't think it is.

Lowest common denominator. What I mean is that even if there are 1000000 people under 16 that can safely ride a certain size quad it doesn't matter if there is one 16 year old that can't. Just like speed limits, most people can safely drive above the speed limit but a few can't so make it low enough that any moron can handle it. Then of course there's lawsuits.
