will a 400ex axle fit in a 250r...

will a 400ex axle fit in a 250r swimgarm and line up with the front sprocket? thanks

Probably but I dont know why you would do that because the 400ex axle is shorter.

If you race in the woods a little less width may be a welcome change, plus a stock 400EX axle is only about $70 straight from Honda.

no, i race flat track and mx. I already have the +2+2 axle and i'm getting a 250r saturday. (tradinh my 400ex) and i'm taking some of my parts and putting it on the r(shocks , tires, axle, ...) all i want to know if it will fit

You'll need your 400EX hubs...

Width wise it will fit in the 250R swingarm, yes the sprocket will line up. I have been told by others that the brake hub is interchangable.

As for the comments on the stock axle, I was just making a point that wider is not always better.

I am working on a '87 250R right now. Just for giggles I stuck a stock 400EX axle in there. It fit and the sprockets do align the same.

The 400EX axle is 1" shorter in length.

The 250R hubs WILL NOT fit on the 400EX axle.

The 250R Disk brake hub and lock nut system fit on the 400EX axle.
