My buddy say's his Honda Pilot will smoke a 400ex in a straight drag. This pilot has a stock 400cc two stroke motor. He also said that if the trails were wide enough he could smoke any quad threw the woods!

What do you guy's know about this Pilot? Is this true about the drag race?

I don't know about the drag race. But what is the point behind a woods race if you widen the trails. The whole point of a woods race is navigating through narrow, tight trails.
If he wants a wide trail woods race, tell him to race on a fire lane.

a 2 stroke will almost always win in a drag versus a 4 stroke

In a shorter race, maybe 100 yards or less the 400EX would likely win. Since the Pilot has the same type of belt transmission as a Polaris.

Hello Santa! I can tell you what I know from personal experience. My dad has a pilot, and I've ridden it for 3 days at Little sahara in Oklahoma with my dad's dune buggy and my brother's old warrior.
As far as dragging, when he got it rebuilt, we raced a Scrambler, and they were about dead even. So, however the 400ex compares is up to you.
As far as trails: The thing would turn quick in the sand( with paddles), but i doubt it would in solid dirt. And it didn't accelerate as fast as my brothers warrior, which had a few mods, but still wasn't as powerfull as a 400ex. It's not nearly as manuverable as a quad. And it has a 400cc 2 stroke engine, but it weighs a lot more too.

Hope this helps,

Jason
