400ex jetting, continued.
Ok so I am at the point where the machine is rideable, but needs jetting "tuning".
I am running a 45 pilot, 4th clip on needle, 170 main, 1 turn out on the fuel screw.
The plug is showing signs off slightly rich at top end, and slightly lean while 1/4 throttle (its black, with white on top of it, from the slow riding home).
When I was in the trials,, 3/4-WOT was sputtering, sign of running rich, so removing air box lid tamed that and it seemed to run ok, I am sure its slightly rich IMO still.
When I had the fuel screw two turns out, I was smoking a little in 1/4 throttle, so I backed it in to 1 turn. So my plan today is to:
Go 168 main, and 1.5 turns out on the fuel screw (i want to keep my air lid on, btw, so i gotta jet accordingly)
What would you do?
