i just bought a 2001 400ex for 4300 canadain which it pretty cheap. 2 weeks after it would not turn over so i brought it in and it needed a rebuilt starter motor and a new starter clutch, it cost me 570 to fix it all. when i got it home i unloaded it from the trailer started it up jumped my laneway and it quit on me..ok so i try to start it no go it wont start. now it will only start if i rock it back and forth but dies soon as i let off the trottle it dies.. seemings all thi sht is going wrong do you think it would be best to sell it be4 anything else goes wrong? i cannot afford to repair it often so would i be beter to sell it and buy a better quad?

Hi. The first thing I would do is to have someone competent look it over and tell you what overall condition it is in. Then go buy the service manual for your wheeler. Get a buddy to help you learn how to do the maintenance and troubleshoot any problems that may arise. A 2001 400 EX should not be too far gone to get it running strong again. With a shop manual and little more time getting to know the wheeler you should be ok.
