it would be nice if one of those models was like a 300ex frame with a 250 fourstroke motocross bike motor in it with 400 ex plastic or do that to the 250 ex mine is slower than hell atleast i mite be a little faster if they did that

I myself don't care about reverse, but a lot of riders and buyers do.

You have a valid point. I really don't have a good feel for how many 400ex Honda sells overall. However, when the dealership here in town gets some in, they sell fairly quick. From a consumer point of veiw, I would rather buy a 400ex without reverse for less than 5 grand then one with reverse for about 6 grand. Is reverse really worth almost a grand to you guys?

That's the problem, Honda will not keep selling the 400EX for under $5,000.00. Just saw some today for $4,499.00.
Already built stock is what's being sold now. The price wouldn't have been lowered so much if it weren't for the Z's and others. They used to be the exact same price. Not enough profit for Honda to sell them so cheap when they were selling them for way over $5,000.00 for so many years.
Either update their quad or quit building it altogether which I'd hate to see happen and I don't think Honda would let happen.

Reverse on the 400ex would be a smart move. It would raise the price minimally. Honda makes plenty of money on each unit, even at the lower prices. The dealer is the one who doesn't make alot of money when prices go down. But dealers make alot of their net profits in the sale of accesories and service contracts, service work and their cut of the finance charges. They may hit a home run on a hot bike like the CRX250F and have to give away CR125's but both buyers will buy gear and exhaust systems, etc...
I was reading a story about the owner of Harkins theatres hear in Arizona. They have @ 20 large complexes. When asked about what it's like to be in the movie business he replied, " We are actually in the concessions business. We make very little money on the movies. The money is in the Popcorn"
Polaris added reverse to the Predator this year. I wouldn't doubt if it doesn't push the Raptor for best selling big bore this year.
The dealer show is the 8-9-10 in Nashville, TN
The 650EX-R rumors are really flying under the radar. Speculation usually is at a fevered pitch before the show but this yearit's non-existent. I guess all those people bought something else already. This will probably be the year, I just hope it's ready before dune season or I am buying 2 450R's or 1 450R and a 05 Predator
