400 ex pipe
#1
I was reading somewhere where this dude had a pipe on his 400 but it stuck out past his grab bar. When he wheelied his bike and went to far back it tore his pipe off. Does anybody know what pipe that was.

The pipe that sticks out past the grab bar would be the Big Gun series. I wouldn't even think about getting that pipe because 1. I would tear it off quickly and 2. While I don't know from experience, I've heard the gains aren't as good as others. As for you x400ex, I would highly recommend the Curtis Sparks pipe. While not quiet or cheap, it gives the best power gains of any pipe for the 400. It flows a ton of air out and sounds great to me.

I was thinkin about gettin the yoshi. Im not a autistic like some people so I dont remember all numbers. So im sure somone will correct me. gt thunder rated the wt bros pipe number one. They wanted to test the yoshi but couldent. I cant remember why. Dirt wheels said the yoshi had more power gain than the wt bros.
I know there is more than one wt bros pipe so im not sure which one they tested.
let me know what you think.

x400ex,
I have only had experience with the White Bros. E-Series, and FMF Power Core IV-2. I have the FMF Power Core IV-2 on my 400EX, and my friend has the WB E-Series on his 400EX.
I don't know much about the Curtis Sparks exhausts, but I went to Loretta Lynn's GNC Event last weekend (Aug. 18-20), I saw a lot of CS pipes, so they must be good. I don't know much about the WB R-Series, DMC/Double Barrel, CT Racing, LRD, Yoshimura, Big Gun, or Noleen systems. I would have to say that these would be more of the full race systems, and would be better for top end and on modified engines. That's just my guess, because I haven't had experience with them. I do know that my FMF PC-IV2 gave a lot of low-end power on mine.
I have seen the headers for the LRD and Noleen systems. They are huge. I almost bought the Noleen, but decided on the FMF because of availability. Just ask around some more, and get some more opinions. Good luck.
* If you have any more questions, let me know. I'll find out about the exhausts.
P.S.- RacerEX, did you race at Loretta Lynn's last weekend?

What's your oppinion on the E-series? I've been considering getting either it or the Supertrapp IDS2, but haven't decided for sure. I'm kinda leaning toward the E-series, just because I've heard it makes a little more power than the IDS2.

No, I did not race at Loretta Lynn's. I really wanted to but I didn't get my bike back till the day before and me and my family felt it would be best to wait since it would be way faster and I wouldn't be used to it. Next year I will definitely race it along with all the other mx nationals. I'll either be in 4 stroke c or b by next year. I'm in c now locally. The person who got 3rd in c at loretta's (#33) races with me locally. There were also 4 others.

The WB E-Series is a good silencer alone. If you were planning on going getting the full system, I would get the Pro-Meg system. It's more expensive, but great power gains. With the proper filter, and jetting with a silencer and header, you will see great increases in power. Good luck.
