So... '05 is the year Honda is dethroned

I think if you go to any type of race, road, mx, quads, local, that I see a lot less Hondas, then say five yrs ago.. I'd say Yamaha is sellling alot of machines, except 1000cc sportbikes.. The Z400 is still gonna bury 400ex sales despite Honda's attempt at trying to improve the 400ex..

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!...(gasp) thirteen whole pounds!!!.... bastards....THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!!
P.S. Get over it....when you got a machine that weighs close to 400lbs already how much difference would you actually notice in 13lbs?...and $500....If your gonna pay..say $6000..whats another $500 on top?

They can keep their ugly overpriced 400ex. I will be getting a yfz or 450r, as my next bike. I was waiting for a 650ex, but want something before I get old and grey! They really let me down. I know I must seem stupid to think they'd actually release their flagship 650ex. I am a sucker, but that is my problem. Maybe one day they'll make us big bore 4 stroke guys happy. My 400ex even with mods is the slowest thing I own, but the low end is nice. A 650ex would most likely have great low end and excellent mid and top speed. I know I'm dreaming, maybe I need to put my Honda coolaid down!

im 28, lived threw the honda fame years as well, and i AGREE! While my rubicon is more fun to ride than any of my friends 4x4 quads, holding it on a steep hill with the rear brake totally sucks! its super weak, and throw a elk on the rear rack like we did last week the parking break will NOT hold, and its set so tight i must use the foot brake at the same time to compress it-and it still wont hold on steep hunting terrain with a load on it.
I was really hopeing for a Rubicon II 550, EFI, disk's all around, Traxlock, and they better NOT nix the dual range and D1+D2 as i use both settings ALOT!
Although, to hondas credit they did build my dual sport dream bike, my new 450X will be my ticket to pounding hidden trails off of public roads to bad it only has 2.8G of fuel on board

Markdb420, I see you like ford trucks. I will just say that ford trucks are bad-***! Have you seen the new super duty's? - beasty!! On the other hand, honda does have something that no one can touch- rock-solid reliability. I bet they will stay in the # 1 spot in atv sales for this year. Just remember that they always have next year to bring out the 650ex/r.

I just test drove 2 of the 05 super dutys 3 weeks ago. A v-10 and the 6.0L powerstroke. It rides better with the coil springs on front, and the extra ponies are awesome on the v-10. Yeah will see on Honda for next year. Still stings like a parent no making your baseball game. LOL

Hey Joe,
I agree on the bike, though my trusty XR400 has never let me down and has plenty of power so I'm not sure I'll upgrade any time soon. I assume you ride the Black Dog & Rat Rog's? I know Tom and am planning on riding sweep at the Rat Dog again next weekend.
