What you mean is you hope Honda is not coming out with a 650. Why wouldn't they? Honda committed to four strokes a long time ago and they are like vampires.(they are around forever) I would bet that any big bore effort on Honda's part would be the greatest thing since bottled beer.(In the large thumper class) I still feel that the 250R will be the best handling quad for a long time to come. The laws of physics just can't be broken. More weight means longer braking distance, less cornering power, and it won't come out of a corner as hard. But I am moto oriented so those factors are important to me.

Wouldn't surprise me if a 650EX showed up. I don't expect it to be an aluminum framed quad, though. Just a little bit bigger than the 400EX, but perhaps with twin-caliper brakes as on the venerable 250R.

Honda already has the XR250R, XR400R, XR600R, XR650R for bikes... quads have the 300EX and 400EX... why not a 650EX? it would fill out their four-stroke line of Sportrax machines well.

BTW- i have seen pictures of the NXR-400R four-stroke motocross bike. It looked just like the CR250/125 frame and plastic, with a different rear shock and liquid-cooled four-valved engine. Looked pretty sano, it was out of a French magazine I believe.

They could just take the motor from a XR 650 and slap it into a frame

No, they couldn't. Several issues need to be addressed, such as, kickstarter? How is that going to clear the frame and plastic. It will be an electric start. How about the tranny? Gotta be beefed up and different gear ratios. Those are just a couple and Honda is more than capable of doing it, just like on the 400. But there is a lot more than just breaking out the welder and torches and going to work. That is what Yamaha does.

It was pretty funny, but, sometimes the truth hurts, sometimes it tickles.

Just wondering, what do you have against yamaha's? I've owned both, and they have all been good.

ridzhard - what a stupid comment.

Name one quad that Yamaha just took a bigger engine, and threw it into an existing quad chassis ! Dont think so. The 300Ex and 400Ex would be the closest example of that if you ask me. Same quad, different engine.

However, they took a "new" motor, and "new design", and built it into a "new" Incredible chassis , with the result being a "Raptor". And with 1 gallon of fuel in each....weighs 9 lbs more than a Banshee. Yeahhh...I guess they just broke out the welder, and slapped that one together...haha. moron. ( "still" in denial..jeesh)

I don't want to be an ***, but your last post was hypocritical. The 400ex was built around a completely new frame, I think the 250x/300ex would be one of the best examples.
