It's time to change the oil and I was wondering what brands/types other people use. I was looking at Maxima or Bel Ray 15w50. What do you think?

Any of the higher quality synthetic or synthetic blends should work nicely, I would use 15w50 or 20w50.

I use Mobil1 15w50, the price is right, the specs are right (quality blend of base stocks, no friction modifiers, no viscosity index improver), and it's easy to obtain (Walmart).

I use Valveline full synthetic 20w-50. I live and ride in the Imperial Valley so it’s even hotter than Vegas. It was so hot the other day I had to adjust the idle screw because the fuel was evaporating before it could be burned when idling. It’s been really humid lately because of the hurricane leftovers so it's cooled off a little.

Just picked up two 6-pack cases of Castrol Synthetic Blend 20W-50 for a whopping $29 (for both not each).

I actually was wondering the same thing 400exrydr. Wasn't sure if what I got was good enough or not. I tried finding %100 synthetic, but didn't have any luck. It's hard to find 20W-50 all synthetic.

I change the oil about every 3 tanks of fuel. How about the rest of you?

Just remember that Honda does not make there oil, they buy someone's elses and put there name on it. The manufactor might change from year to year. Also, we have done some big bore kits and the directions from the Web cams says don't use Synthetic oil. Use regular oil and change it offen.

Wonder why you shouldn't use synthetic?
