This modifaction will be nearly impossible. For one, you will need a whole new swingarm and axle assembly. Possible one off of a 400ex or 300ex but i dought that either one will fit. then, you will need to spin your engine point were the driveshaft comes out on the right side on the engine. Then, you will have to fabricate a sprocket on the driveshaft part. And then make eerything else fit the sideways engine. INCLUDING THE SHIFTER. Then, you have to make it an auto clutch, and i dont even know where to start for that. It would be a lot easier to just buy a used 300ex or 400ex.

Sell it and get something else! That's why manufacturers have so many models. Something to please everybody, without doing any ridiculous mods.

by the way, its auto clutch, and manual clutch and like reconranger said, just get something else and mod it, u'll end up spending way too much just doing that, when u can get like a 300ex and a few mods for it

Wow, you've got a lot on your plate. I wish I could help you but I've never heard of anyone doing that to a quad.

You might be able to switch it to a manual clutch. The Z250 has a kit available to switch it from a semi-auto to a manual clutch. So it might be possible for a 250ex.

As far as changing it from a shaft to chain- Are you crazy? It really isn't worth the time and money it would take to make the changes. You'd still only have a quad with 229 cc's. Sell it and buy a 400ex or something else.

Good luck.

Remember that the motor is turned sideways on the 250ex. Things just wouldn't lineup.
