Oh, by the way, when you say vette killer, you must be talking about the crappy mid-seventies vettes because the new z06 will eat your little pony alive!! I've personally seen one break into the 12's. I think maybe you have strap ons, not bolt ons... why don't you do something worth while to that thing, like cam it up or some other "real modification"!

I doubt he was doing 205. Maybe 150-160. 99 Hyabusa's can't hit that. Regardless, if you are ever going to run like that and get chased, you need to head to a airport, they won't approve chase planes/choppoers in the flight zones.

It is very possible. The stock settings on all bikes is 186mph assuming that they can reach that. Most of the litre bikes are capable of these speeds and with minor modifications can do much faster. You have to remember most of these bikes don't even redline til 13,000 rpms. I think he could have quite easily piped, fuel mapped, filter and remove governer and done that speed. If you have never rode a sportbike then you would not understand the power on tap at any time.

As was said, he was riding an RC51. They use a 1000cc V-twin that is all torque, which makes them fast on the big end. But, without major mods including gearing, 205 isn't possible. If the officer was 2 tenths slow starting the stopwatch, and 2 tenths fast stoping it, it would equate to 187MPH, which is MUCH more likely.

By the way, I have taken my CBR1000RR to an indicated 170 in 5th gear. Still had 1 gear to go. I weigh 300lbs and at 75MPH in 2nd a quick rip on the throttle will stand the bike straight up. I can hold it up until it redlines at about 115MPH. It will almost pull up to the balance point at 100 in 3rd, my new pipe should bring it up so I can ride a wheelie from 100.

Hell, I had my old CBR600F2 up to 155mph with some room left on the tach. The speedo went to 175mph as I recall. My rear sprocket was 1 tooth larger than stock which would raise the RPM's at given speed, and lower the top speed. Had her jetted, ignition advanced, K&N, Yoshi exhaust, Aftermarket sprocket. The ole 93 moved out pretty good. I don't know what was all done to the Honda 1000 but getting a higher top speed is pretty easy to do, replace the rear sprocket with a smaller one. And those power commander's on the efi bikes I imagine can do wonders.

It is a lot of fun to pass my friends in their cars on the highway or interstate with the front in the air.
Nutsy, my old F3 would top at 148 max. It was stock geared though. It took FOR EVER to go from 140-148. Check out a new liter bike if you get the chance. My digital speedo on my RR was skipping 3-4MPH as it passed 160. It skips about 10-12 MPH under hard acceleration from like 50MPH.
