anyone here have this problem....and if so what is the fix???.....i just changed the oil (which i do often)....i try to change it after every 8 hours of riding (i ride pretty hard)...anyways i just changed the oil and filter and after, it started up pretty hard and once it was running it was putting out a spy hunter style smoke screen....the only thing i did different this time was i unintenional put 2 different brands of oil (same weight) one honda and the other arctic cat.....i don't think this is why but i thought i would give all details....i checked the compression and it is putting out 150 on the comp. tester....
thanks in advanced for the help

400ex and 450r's have the same problem. Over time the valves start to stretch. One thing honda did wrong is use crappy valves. That would explain the hard starting. thats one of the first signs. But it might not be that. Best to take it to a mechanic and have them pull the top end. Could also be a gasket somewhere. good luck.

too much oil in the crankcase? Using two different brands of oil, wont hurt anything. Did you also reoil the air filter...and maybe over do it? Is the crankcase breather, dumping oil into the air box?
