I loaned my 400EX to a friend and she drove it into a river. After she drove it too deep she says she turned it off, pulled it out,(with help) and then it wouldn't start back up. I checked the oil and it is full to the top of the reservoir with oil and water. Any suggestions would appreciated.

The only way i found to full clean out the crank case of the murky white residue is to first. Drain crank case , ok then take out the oil filter, replace oil filter cap on without oil filter in. And then add diesel fuel to crank case. Take off the spark plug capp so engine will not fire and crank over engine many times leting the diesel clean all the residue out of crank case. Drain crank case let it drain completly. Add oil to proper mark idle engine for a up to five minutes. Shut down engine drain oil. Add new oil and your new filter, that's what i do. Your first step should be to be certain that the air box is water free and then drain the float bowl on carb. Simple step small screw on bottom of carb open and let the bowl drain it doesnt hold much so it doesnt take long a couple minutes is plenty. Ok, thats what we do in that kind of circumstance. Check both or your differentials also, for a white mulky mess. If you have any white in your differentials flush them also. I jack my machine off the floor totaly and drain one at a time then add the diesel idle machine letting the wheels spin in first gear with the drain plug out so you can see when the diesel turns clear. Let drain completly add diff fluid with drain plug in idle again in first gear let wheels spin for a few minutes drain and re-add with fresh. Thats what we do and we have had no problems.
