I have seen a motorcycle engine stuffed into an atv frame too. It's called the 400EX. It is an XR400 motor stuffed into an atv frame.
A lot of atvs have detuned motorcycle engines in them.
Most atv manufacturers will tell you not to use automobile specific oil in an atv. Supposedly, the car oil has friction modifiers, and energy conserving additives that will, or could, do the wet clutch motor more harm than good.
You really can't go wrong using any Honda, Yamaha, or Suzuki motorcycle oil. I use the Mobil 1 red cap 15W-50 in all of my atvs. It is the only Mobil 1 oil that doesn't have any of the above mentioned BS in it.
