Default 400 EX Rev Box Question

Okay i have an '04 400 ex and i want to get a rev box for it. Im just not sure which one to get. I am considering the big gun, white bros, srp, and maybe curtis sparks. The question that i have is all of these boxes claim to do the same thing, but which one is the best out of all these? And is there a big gain in performance with the rev box comared to the stock box?

Thanks.

Default 400 EX Rev Box Question

do NOT get the sparks or WB boxes. htey are junk. i hear the big gun is ok. i have the GT Thunder box and it seems great. the power increase is nothing with a box. they just enable you to rev your bike to higher rpms without hitting the rev limit. the spark curves may change too.

Default 400 EX Rev Box Question

The Big Gun rev box raises the rev limiter by 1750 rpm's. The White Brothers and Sparks add 1000 rpm's. I am not sure about the SRP, I haven't heard anything good or bad about it and I think that it raises the rev limit by 1000 rpm's as well. There are other boxes out there that will raise the rev limit by 1500 rpm's. I just bought a new White Brothers rev box on ebay but I haven't received it yet. I will let you know how it performs when I put it on. I would go with the White Brothers or the Big Gun, trusted name brands. Mine brand new including shipping was under $70 but you will most likely find it for $100-110. The Big Gun runs around $100 as well.

have fun putting your stock box back on in cold weather. i would almost bet my atv on it not starting in the cold with that box.

Why wouldent it start? It just raises the RPM on top.

Default 400 EX Rev Box Question

I heard the Rev Box's require more power from the battery..but I have had no problems with mine starting since I put it on in the summer at 30degrees...it still has no problem starting now at 10degrees.

Default 400 EX Rev Box Question

Rev boxes are a waste of money unless you have a built motor, but then it's still questionable. The stock rev boxes are set at a certain rpm for a reason, to keep your motor from grenading. I get a kick out of people that think that after they install one, that they will be the new king at the dragstrip.

A lot of people that have them complain of starting problems in cold weather. The only box that I have heard good things about is the GT Thunder
