does anyone know about boiling chains in gear lube? how hot?

I have never herd of this, and cannot think of why someone would.

It is done to melt the grease into the chain.. First get a camp stove then get a frying pan and put 4 sheets of aluminum foil on the botom then take white lithium grease and cook the chain until the grease is melted then hang the chain up and wipe off excess grease. It allows the grease to penitrate the pins on the chain. Do it for about 15 min. I do this with all my NON o-ring chanins...DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT DO THIS WITH AN O-RING CHAIN!!
