hi i am 14 and am wondering if you take your atv in to the dealer for a yune up whut all do the do? i can change the oil, clean the air filter and i could ajust the valves but i don't realy wan't to incase i screw up and then thers 5000 bucks down the drain. also under a tune up will they do your jetting?whut i would like to get done is a valve ajust ment and get it jeted, how mutch do u think that would cost? o ya i have a 2002 400ex

i think they check your air filter, change oil and filter, check spark plug and gap, check fluid levels, check brakes, adjust clutch, check/adjust valves, set idle speed. they probably wont mess with your idle mixture jet, because that is present at the factory. and you shouldnt ever have to adjust that unless it obviously doesnt run right.
this service would cost me about $200 for labor for where i bough my rancher. i would recommend buying a service manual and doing it
yourself. by the way, it's not that hard to do the valve adjustment. yeah you could mess it up, but if you follow the directions it wont be that bad.

The service all depends on how many hours are on the ATV. There is a "first" service and an X amount of hours service after that and so on. If you have an older quad (meaning not new) you can request an hourly service that cover the items you want checked out as apposed to giving the shop a list of things. The "service" tends to be cheaper.
