Default Stuck on private property??

Last night there were some fourwheelers mudding back on my dads private property. It is posted everywhere. Well these people were mudding in the creek and the guy on a rincon got his buried. Im not talking about some stock rincon. This baby is loaded; lift kit, winch, itps, full skid plates, hmf, nice rincon. Well they tried everything to get this thing out, they even had a z71 out there pulling on it. They couldnt get it out and they still havnt. They dont have insurance or anything on it. We were talking to some of our riding buddys and they say if someone elses property is left of your posted property you own it. So if we were to go back there and pull it out somehow would it be ours?? Our riding buddys seem to think so!!

Why don't you just call your local Sheriff's office? They should have the answer for you.

That would be great if you could do that. But, I don't think it would too legal I'd call the sheriff and tell them what occurred. If it''s like Ca. You can have it towed off, but, it's a private person tow. The tow company, may or may not ask you to pay for it. They can go after the owner, and if, they (owners)don't claim it, the tow company can put a lien on it. They then sell it, to recoup their towing cost. That's where you ask them to contact you, and then you buy it, dirt cheap. Chances are though, the owner probably called it in stolen. And, if that's the case, if your caught riding it, well, you should know the rest of that story. Anyways, call the sheriff, have them come out, make sure it's not stolen. Then, he can have the owner come get it. With a little persuasion, he might get them to cop to the trespassing and then cite them for it. Good Luck

You could always leave it as is and in 3000 years let the geologist that is fumbling around in the creek bed figure it out.

When my father used to leave a car overnight in the woods it was stripped by the next day. Of course that was on state land, so you couldnt put a finger on the culprit.

Call the authorities, as much as I hate to tell you to do that, the guy deserves it.

What if it was your quad stuck in the mud, would you want them to just tow it off and claim it? Try doing the right thing and help the guy get his quad out. Then rib him about riding on private property

They really should not have been riding on your private land. Then they are tearing it up by getting stuck. This is what gives all of the other quads riders a bad name.

I really don't think you have the right to take the quad. How would you register it? This would make you the bad guy. If the real issue is that they were on your land. Then call the police and make the people pay for the damage to the land. If an auto driver runs off the road and takes out a fence, tree and digs up a yard. That driver has to pay to have these things fixed.

If you aren't going to report it. There's no reason why you can't take pieces of the quad.

Trespassing has become a serious problem with more and more people buying quads. There is a need for more public riding land. It is not alright to ride on others land without permission. The trespassers do not pay the taxes on the land and the owner could be sued if someone gets hurt on the land.

Call the police and make sure your land is posted on all sides.
